A gift doesn't erase what you did.
In most story games, a character's opinion of you is a number. Be rude and it drops. Hand over a few gifts and it climbs back, and the character acts as if nothing happened.
We are building a 2D narrative game that keeps the whole record instead. Insult someone, then come back with gifts the moment you need a favour: they remember the insult, they notice the timing, and they tell you so.
How it works
For now, the story, its scenes and its endings are written by hand. What is not fixed in advance is how you move between them.
- The game records what you do: every choice, in the order you made it. This part runs on your machine.
- Most choices come from a list. At a few key moments you answer in your own words instead.
- At those moments Claude reads your answer together with your history and decides how the characters and the world change, choosing among outcomes we wrote.
- The aim: the same choices always lead to the same story, and different choices lead somewhere else. There is no fixed list of steps that unlocks an ending.
Next, we want to go further: let the game build situations nobody wrote in advance, shaped by how you have played.
